I’ve decided it would be a good idea to maintain a blog. I do not like the verbal diarrhea that tends to happen in Facebook; of course, blogs are just a difference species of effusion, but at least there is not a character limit. The potential for definite dehydration is encouraging.
Rather than begin a new blog, I’ll revive this aborted attempt, since the title, Transitory State, is as applicable now as it was erm… seven (closer to 8!!) years ago. One can hope that some maturation has happened in those nearly eight years. More likely the only difference will be the urge to provide citations and refer to past literature with every sentence.
My general motivation is the very long list of Things I Should Be Writing. Articles, lecture powerpoints, proposals for books, query letters… No fun at all.
The immediate impulse comes from (well immediate procrastination of course, but beyond that) a wish to recount recent events without repeating myself to many people. I had better figure out who can see this fairly soon.
