Yes, I am a writer (mainly novels and academic papers, but my one published book is nonfiction), horsewoman (grew up showing Morgans, amateur jockey, & etc), research psychologist (doctoral student studying moral cognition, narrative in books and film, among other topics), amateur statistician (perhaps not technically amateur as I get paid to be a data specialist, but really not professional), traveller (I wish I did more of this), and mother (two sons).
Yes, this is going to be about horses, morality, statistics, fiction, and travel… but I am going to start with statistics. The need for an online t-test and Cohen’s d calculator on the same page prompted me to start a new blog. That and the need for a one-stop easy regression diagnostic statistics cut-off value calculator. So… I will try to put these here.
I hope I do not lose 99% of my potential audience with such a geeky beginning, but there you have it. Horses, morality, fiction, and travel to come, after I have experimented with embedding a spreadsheet.
